Dr. Magruder’s Experience
With roots firmly planted in Central Florida, Dr. Magruder began his career at the Magruder Eye Institute, later establishing to his own practice: LaserVue Orlando. Dr. Magruder has performed refractive surgery since 1988 including more than 20,000 LASIK eye surgery procedures, and has experience with three different laser delivery systems.

Graduating undergraduate and medical school with honors at Emory College, Dr. Magruder also completed his residency at Emory, serving as the Chief Resident and participating in clinical resource projects and publications. He returned to Orlando, his hometown, joining his father in private practice at the Magruder Eye Institute.
Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and by the American Board of Eye Surgery in cataract surgery, Dr. Magruder opened his own practice, LaserVue Orlando, specializing in refractive and cataract surgical procedures including:

Since his residency, Dr. Magruder has helped research and investigate new, innovative procedures to help improve laser eye surgery technology to give you better results and recovery time. As an investigator for the CustomCornea® FED LASIK trials for the past few years, Dr. Magruder helped develop exciting technology in which astigmatism and residual refractive errors are treated with premium implants as well as incisional and laser procedures, giving patients around the world better results that last.
In early 2003, Dr. Magruder initiated an ongoing eye mission program in the Dominican Republic, leading a surgical team providing cataract surgery and glasses to those without access to eye care. More recently, he has begun providing the same services in rural Jamaica.
